A woman was killed in a crash between two vehicles Saturday on Route 90 near the northern town of Kiryat Shmona, medics said.
The collision apparently led the victim’s car to hit a security barrier on the roadside, crushing it.
The cause of the collision was not immediately clear.
Paramedics who arrived on the scene found that car’s driver, in her 20s, unconscious and in serious condition, according to a statement from Magen David Adom (MDA).
After failing to resuscitate her, the paramedics declared her dead on site, MDA said.

According to medics, the woman’s car suffered severe damage after its collision with the barrier.
The second car was found next to the road. Its driver, a 59-year-old man, suffered a chest injury and was taken in a light condition to Ziv Medical Center in Safed.
According to the latest data from the National Road Safety Authority, 344 people have been killed in 313 traffic accidents since the beginning of the year.
