At least 12 people were hurt, including a 7-year-old girl, in two frontal collisions late Tuesday.
Five people were hurt, including the 7-year-old, in a crash between two vehicles on Route 44 near Holon.
One of the wounded, a 40-year-old woman, was trapped in one of the cars and had to be rescued by crews who were called to the scene. She was taken to Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer in serious condition.
The little girl was reportedly in moderate condition, and was taken together with the remaining three wounded to Assaf Harofeh Medical Center west of Tel Aviv.
Earlier in the evening, seven people were injured in a similar accident on Route 1, the highway that connects Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

The collision took place on the Tel Aviv-bound side of the highway near the Ben Shemen Junction in the foothills leading up to the capital, and caused traffic to slow to a crawl for several kilometers.
According to the Magen David Adom rescue service, three people were moderately wounded in the crash and four were lightly wounded.
