13-year-old critically hurt after hit-and-run

2 killed and over a dozen injured in multiple car accidents across Israel this week

A 13-year-old girl is in critical condition after being hit by a car while crossing Herzl Street in Ramle on Thursday. According to police, the driver fled the scene without stopping to help the girl.

Paramedics who arrived at the scene tried to resuscitate the girl before taking her to the Assaf Harofeh Medical Center.

Traffic police are investigating the incident and have set up roadblocks in the area of the accident in an effort to locate the driver.

In a separate accident on Thursday, a 50-year-old woman was killed and another woman critically injured in an car accident at an intersection near the Carmel Tunnels south of Haifa. Police suspect that the collision involving two cars and a motorcycle happened after a driver ran a red light.

On Wednesday, a 25-year-old woman was killed and 10 people were injured in a head-on collision with a commercial vehicle at the Jezreel Intersection in Galilee. Police are investigating the accident.
