A 20-year-old Israeli tourist, identified as Elad Cooper, was found dead in his Nepal hotel bed, the Foreign Ministry said Sunday.
Israeli consular officials from the embassy in Kathmandu were working to bring his body home, the ministry said.
Cooper had been staying at the Hotel Dream Inn in Pokhara, the second largest city in Nepal, for over three and a half months, according to The Himalayan Times.
Police were called to the scene after hotel staffers had not seen the Tel Aviv native exit his room over the span of a couple of days, the report said.
His body has been sent for a postmortem examination to determine the cause of death.
Nepal is a popular destination for Israeli tourists, especially for trekking in the Himalayan mountains.
