The Foreign Ministry blamed the Jewish Agency on Wednesday for endangering eastern Ukraine’s Jewish community and provoking accusations of dual loyalty.

According to the charge, the Jewish Agency leaked plans to evacuate the Jewish community from Ukraine, which is in the midst of ongoing political tension and violence, Channel 2 reported.

Details of the plan were published in Ukrainian media.

The Jewish Agency caused “severe political damage” to Israel and eastern Ukraine’s Jews, said the Foreign Ministry.

Reuven Din El, Israel’s ambassador to Ukraine, called the leaks “harmful and dangerous-politically, operationally, and to our image.”

“I would like to express my deep shock from the publication of plans that were supposed to be secret,” he wrote.

Din El said that the leaks made local Jews vulnerable to accusations of dual loyalty. He added that whatever plans there may have been are now unusable.

The Jewish Agency denied that it was responsible for the leaks.
