An Israeli resident of Thailand was arrested in Bangkok on Friday after drugs were found in the guesthouse he owns.
Thai police raided the guesthouse and arrested 20 people, including more than a dozen foreign nationals.
Police entered the premises after local residents complained of noise and smoke emanating from the building, Channel 10 reported.
At the end of the investigation, the police released 12 detainees but kept eight in custody, including the Israeli.
According to the report, urine tests showed that the eight had used drugs.
The Israeli was still in custody Saturday evening, awaiting a decision on his case.
Thailand is well-known for its extremely strict drug laws, and even using marijuana can lead to long-term incarceration.
