Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman was set to fly to the United States on Thursday evening for a multi-day visit to include meetings with top US officials and leaders of the US Jewish community.
In New York, the foreign minister is to meet with Mayor Bill de Blasio. He will also hold meetings with American Jewish Committee Executive Director David Harris, Anti-Defamation League Director Abraham Foxman and Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations President Malcolm Hoenlein.
Liberman is to meet in Washington, DC, with his American counterpart John Kerry on Wednesday, having met the previous day with members of the House Foreign Relations committee, including chairman Ed Royce, and members of the Senate Foreign Relations committee, led by chairman Robert Menendez.
Next week, President Shimon Peres is scheduled to make a three-day official visit to China.
