Seven Israelis were injured when a tourist bus overturned in Cuba on Friday.

The Israeli casualties, said to be in their 60s according to the Israeli insurance company PassportCard, were taken to various hospitals in the country with different degrees of injuries.

The tourist bus was traveling in Ciego de Avila in central Cuba when the incident occurred. It is not yet known how many people were on this bus and details on the accident were not immediately available.

Israel has no official ties with Cuba. The Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem said it was trying to collect information regarding the condition on the injured Israelis through the Canadian embassy in Havana.

“Since Israel has no diplomatic ties with Cuba, we are relying on the Canadian embassy to look out for our interests there, including handling the [injured] Israelis,” the Foreign Ministry told Channel 2 in a statement.

“We are waiting for updates from them,” the ministry said.
