Suspect caught in deadly Rishon Lezion hit-and-run
83-year-old victim was en route to synagogue for morning prayers when he was struck and killed on Monday morning

Police in Rishon Lezion said Tuesday that they had apprehended a 17-year-old male suspected in a deadly hit-and-run on the previous morning. A second suspect, also believed to have been involved, was arrested as well.
The victim of the accident was an 83-year-old man, who was walking to early morning prayers in a local synagogue when he was hit at a pedestrian crosswalk.
Police initiated an extensive investigation that included checkpoints at major thoroughfares in the city where passing motorists were questioned. The suspects were apprehended at one such stop.
