Top Israeli tennis player Dudi Sela was eliminated from the Australian Open by Finland’s Jarkko Nieminen Monday.

The 39th-ranked Nieminen overcame the 68th-ranked Sela in five sets, 3-6, 7-6, 6-7, 6-3, 6-3.

Sela had risen to 67 in the rankings after reaching the quarterfinals of the Chennai Open in India last week and winning the Israeli Open last month, achieving his highest ranking since 2012.
