Man tells police he heard voices telling him to kill somebody; 7-year-old in serious but stable condition

Police arrested a 38-year-old man from Netanya for allegedly stabbing his seven-year-old niece in the neck on Monday.
The girl was seriously injured, but was conscious and talking, according to paramedics, who treated her at the scene and rushed her to the city’s Laniado Hospital.
The man was sent to a psychiatric examination after telling police he had heard voices urging him to kill somebody.
The man and his niece had been out on a trip for the day, and when they returned home, he attacked the girl, according to police. That suspect has no previous criminal record, but neighbors told the Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth he has acted strangely in the past.
