Ben Gurion Airport building its first hotel
Designed for business people and short-term visitors, new lodgings will allow for direct access to main international terminal

JERUSALEM (JTA) — Ben Gurion Airport is getting its first hotel. Construction was approved last week by the Israel Airports Authority on land adjacent to the airport’s Terminal 3.
The hotel would allow direct access to the passenger hall and the airport’s main terminal serving international arrivals and departures.
A bidding process will decide on the contractor, who will be responsible for planning and construction costs.
In a statement, the airports authority said the hotel would cater to business people who arrive in Israel for short visits to participate in conferences or events.
“Hotels at airports are a customary service offered to the public of passengers, business people, airlines crews and tourist groups at many airports around the world,” the authority said.
