Jordanian MP praises late mother’s wish to blow herself up among ‘Zionist Jews’
Huda Etoom says the Palestinian cause ‘is a priority on which we must not compromise’
A Jordanian lawmaker on Tuesday told the parliament of her late mother’s desire to be a a suicide bomber and kill “Zionist Jews.”
“A single desire was left in her soul: to don an explosives belt and blow herself up among the Zionist Jews. This is an example of our sentiment – the sentiment of all free people,” she said.
“We shall continue to feel remiss unless we are martyred on the land of Palestine.”
In a transcript translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) media watchdog group, Huda Etoom said the Palestinian cause “is a priority on which we must not compromise,” and called for a free state of Palestine, spanning from the Mediterranean Sea to the Jordan River.
According to MEMRI, the speech was given at a session of the House of Representatives on July 17, and was broadcast on television.
