Police officers taking part in routine activity in the southern Israeli Bedouin village of Lakiya were surprised Friday when they pulled over a suspicious vehicle and discovered a 10-year-old driver behind the wheel, with his eight-year-old brother sitting calmly in the passenger’s seat.
The children were unharmed and had apparently not caused any damage during their drive.
When questioned about the incident, the 10-year-old matter-of-factly explained that he had taken his father’s car in order to drive his younger brother to a bathroom, Channel 10 News reported.
After stopping the children, police officers went on to question the boys’ father, a local shop owner. The father claimed he was unaware his kids had taken the vehicle.
A traffic complaint was filed by police against the father.
