US President Joe Biden held phone calls earlier this evening to discuss the ongoing Gaza war with Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi, Iraqi President Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

In the calls with Sissi and Sudani, Biden discussed “ongoing efforts to alleviate the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, in coordination with the UN, Jordan, the Palestinian Authority, Israel, and other regional partners, and the need to preserve stability in the Middle East more broadly,” the White House says.

No readout on the call with Scholz is immediately available.
