After Israel assassinated top Houthi officials and targeted Hamas’s military spokesman — his fate is still unclear — the weekly cabinet meeting will be held in a secure alternative site, the Kan public broadcaster reports.
On Saturday, the IDF confirmed that Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb al-Rahwi of Yemen’s Houthi-led government was killed alongside several of the terror group’s military officials and other senior members of its political leadership in last Thursday’s strike. The Houthis have vowed to retaliate.
The IDF and Shin Bet said in a statement on Saturday evening that they had carried out an airstrike on a senior Hamas operative in the Gaza City area, in the northern Gaza Strip.
While the statement did not provide the identity of the targeted terror operative, multiple Hebrew media outlets reported that it was the longtime Hamas spokesman, Hudayfa Samir Abdallah al-Kahlout, more widely known by his nom de guerre Abu Obeida. A Palestinian source told Saudi media today that he was killed.
