KLM cancels all of its flights to and from Tel Aviv until October 26, the Dutch arm of airline group Air France says, amid spiraling tensions in the Middle East.

Aegean Airlines also cancels flights to and from Israel, according to Greek media reports.

The decision follows similar moves by Lufthansa, Delta, United and other airlines in recent days.

A senior Israeli aviation official argued yesterday that the country’s skies are secure and that authorities would close the airspace of their own initiative if and when the situation truly calls for it.
