Emily Damari rejoices over report that ‘monster’ captor was killed by IDF

Freed hostage Emily Damari expresses joy at the reported news that one of the Hamas captors who held her hostage in Gaza was killed in an IDF airstrike.
“He was responsible for me and [fellow freed captive] Romi [Gonen] for around eight months,” Damari tells the Channel 12 news network. “He was the commander of our captors, a very, very evil person.”
Damari thanks the IDF for their tireless efforts and says she shouted “screams of joy” when she heard the news.
“People will never understand what that monster was to me and to Romi,” says Damari, noting that at the same time she is “scared to death” for her friends who are still held hostage, including twins Ziv and Gali Berman.
The news of Damari’s captor’s killing has not been publicly confirmed by the IDF.
