Energy Ministry plan for electric vehicle charging at gas stations approved

The National Council for Planning and Building approves an Energy Ministry plan for special electricity rooms at gas stations that will provide enough power to simultaneously operate more than five fast charging points for electrical vehicles.
With the green light, gas stations will also be permitted to build small waiting areas for those whose cars are being charged.
Additional chargers are needed countrywide if the Energy Ministry is to fully move to electric transportation by 2050. Out of 3.7 million private vehicles on the roads, just 170,000 are fully electric, the ministry says.
