A gunman who infiltrated Israeli territory from Lebanon and opened fire on Israeli troops in the Ramim Ridge area close to the border was shot dead by troops, according to the military.
The IDF says no injuries were caused in the incident, and troops are scanning the area for possible additional attackers. An Israeli Air Force drone was also dispatched to the area to assist with the searches.
Residents of the border communities of Misgav Am, Margaliot, and Manara in the Galilee Panhandle are instructed to remain in their homes until further notice, and a nearby highway is closed to traffic.
