The chief of the IDF Northern Command, Maj. Gen. Ori Gordin held an assessment with troops in southern Lebanon on Friday, the military announces.

“Where we stand we can look toward the frontier communities. Our ground operation here is a significant step toward returning the residents of the north safely to their homes, towards a better year than the previous one,” the IDF cites Gordin as telling troops.

The general met with the commander of the Golani Brigade, Col. Adi Gonen, and his forces, which have been operating in Lebanese villages close to the border in recent days.
