The Israeli Navy’s Shayetet 13 commando unit carried out a raid in northern Lebanon last night, capturing a Hezbollah official, the military confirms.

The Hezbollah operative, Imad Amhaz, is considered by the IDF to be a “significant source of knowledge” in the terror group’s naval force.

The Shayetet 13 commandos arrived from the sea and raided a chalet on the coast of Batroun, south of Tripoli. Amhaz was taken from the building by the commandos, and they left the area using speedboats, according to reports in Lebanon.

He is now being questioned by the Military Intelligence Directorate’s Unit 504, which specializes in HUMINT, or human intelligence.
