Incoming Colombian president won’t reverse recognition of Palestinian state
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleColombia’s new president, Ivan Duque, says he will not reverse the lame-duck decision last month of his predecessor, Juan Manuel Santos, to recognize a Palestinian state. “I would have like more debate, but a government governs until the last day,” he tells a local radio station. “The recognition is irreversible.”
Santos, a close ally of Israel, recognized the state of Palestinian state several days before the inauguration of his successor in a surprise move.
