Iranian MPs oppose US Congress oversight of nuke deal
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleTwo hundred Iranian MPs sign a letter condemning the recent US Senate passage of a bill mandating congressional oversight of the emerging nuclear deal.
“The recent Senate bill is indicative of a new case of wild ambition in the guise of democratic gestures which we have experienced frequently for the last four decades in US foreign policy,” the MPs say in a statement, according to the Mehrs News Agency.
Addressing the negotiators, the MPs urge: “If you find them [world powers] using the language of threat, give them the response they deserve.”
The news report says “the MPs advised Iran’s nuclear negotiators to be watchful of such cunning turns by Americans.”
