Israel stops Islamic Movement chief from leaving country
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleInterior Minister Silvan Shalom is preventing the head of the radical Northern Branch of the Islamic Movement, Sheikh Raed Salah, from leaving the country, Channel 2 reports.
Shalom this evening signed an order stopping Salah and his deputy departing from Israel’s borders, the report says.
According to Channel 2, Shalom fears that the departure of the two from Israel could pose a threat to the security of the state.
