Lebanese PM blasts Hezbollah leader’s ‘unacceptable’ threat of civil war over effort to disarm terror group

Lebanon’s Prime Minister Nawaf Salam blasts Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem’s “unacceptable” apparent threat that the country will have “no life” if it tries to confront and disarm the terror group.

“No party in Lebanon is authorized to bear arms outside the framework of the Lebanese state,” Salam says in a post on X carrying his statements from an interview with the pan-Arab Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper.

“This is our nation together. We live in dignity together, and we build its sovereignty together — or Lebanon will have no life if you stand on the other side and try to confront us and eliminate us,” Qassem said earlier in a televised speech.
