Military court releases 8 of 9 Khan al-Ahmar demonstrators

An Ofer Military Court judge has ordered the conditional release of eight Palestinians who were arrested last week during clashes with Israeli security forces at the Bedouin village of Khan al-Ahmar, which is slated for demolition.

Eleven demonstrators, among them residents of the central West Bank hamlet, were arrested last Wednesday trying to block demolition equipment from reaching the encampment.

Two were released later that day while nine others remained in prison through the weekend.

The judge has extended the remand of the last suspect until Monday after the military prosecution said that it intends to indict her for stone throwing.
