Netanyahu: ‘The goal is to eliminate Hamas. Talk of handing Gaza to PA a lie’

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office has issued a statement, apparently in response to Hebrew media reports this evening suggesting that Israel is weighing the idea of having the Palestinian Authority again rule the Gaza Strip once Israel succeeds in its goal of toppling Hamas.

“Prime Minister Netanyahu defined the goal: the elimination of Hamas. All talk of decisions to hand over the Gaza Strip to the Palestinian Authority or any other party is a lie,” the statement reads.
