PM calls on protesters in Jerusalem to avoid violence

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu calls on protesters to avoid violence as a demonstration of Israelis of Ethiopian descent, who are protesting police violence against members on the community.

“I strongly condemn the beating of the soldier from the Ethiopian community and those responsible will answer for it,” Netanyahu says. “But at the same time, no one should take the law into their hands. Immigrants from Ethiopia and their families are dear to us, and the State of Israel is making great efforts to make their integration in society easier. We will continue this also in the next government.”
