Train service disrupted across central Israel after freight train damages electric cables overnight

Train service across central Israel has been partially suspended this morning after a freight train caused extensive damage to several hundred meters of electric cable infrastructure overnight.
In an update, Israel Railways says all service between Tel Aviv Ha’Hagana and Lod has been canceled, as have trains between Ha’Hagana and Ben Gurion Airport.
Trains are operating as normal between Jerusalem and Ben Gurion Airport, as well as from other Tel Aviv stations, it says.
Israel Railways does not say how long it expects the repairs to take, but reports suggest that train service could be impacted for several days.
