UN coordinator calls for talks between Lebanon, Israel: ‘Things are set to get even worse’

The United Nations special coordinator for Lebanon urges Lebanon and Israel to enter talks to negotiate an end to hostilities after the outbreak of renewed fighting between Israel and Hezbollah.
“As bad as things are today, they are set to get even worse,” Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert says.
“Talks between Lebanon and Israel can be the game changer needed to save future generations from going, time and again, through the same nightmare.”
Lebanon was engulfed by the expanding Middle East fighting after the Hezbollah terror group renewed the firing of missiles and drones at Israel on Monday. Israel has responded with airstrikes and military operations.
