Palestinians say teenager shot dead in clashes with IDF soldiers
Separately, Israeli teen said hospitalized after being hit in face with stone hurled by Palestinian rioters
A Palestinian teenager was shot dead in clashes with IDF troops Tuesday in the West Bank village of Al-Mughayyir, north of Ramallah, according to the Palestinian health ministry.
The ministry said the 16-year-old Laith Haitham Abu Naim succumbed to injuries sustained from a bullet to the head.
A spokeswoman for the Israeli military confirmed that “violent riots are taking place in this area and burning tires and stones were thrown at the soldiers.”
She said she was unable to confirm that any Palestinians had been hit by gunfire.
Separately, in the northern West Bank, an Israeli teen was evacuated to the hospital after being hit in the head with a rock thrown by Palestinians.
The teenager had been planting trees for the Tu B’shvat holiday with a number of families at the illegal Kumi Uri outpost adjacent to the Yitzhar settlement when they came under attack from a dozen Palestinians rioters, a spokesperson for the nearby settlement said.
