A teenage boy died Sunday after a car hit the motorcycle he was riding in the northern Israeli town of Pardes Hannah, on the first day of summer vacation.
The car hit the 16-year-old around 5 a.m. Sunday on the town’s Derech Hasadeh street, while he was riding a motorcycle driven by his 17-year-old friend, police said.
The teen was critically injured, and he was treated at the scene by Magen David Adom paramedics and then transferred to the Hillel Yaffe hospital in the nearby town of Hadera with multiple injuries.
Hours later, the hospital said the boy had died of his injuries. He is to be laid to rest at 6 p.m. at the Kfar Pines Ein Iron Karkur Common Cemetery.
The driver of the motorbike and the 20-year-old driver of the car weren’t hurt in the accident.
They were both questioned by police, who collected evidence from the scene and vowed to conduct a thorough investigation.
