80 Tiberias hotel guests treated in likely food poisoning

People from two establishments hospitalized after feeling unwell; health officials investigating

Health officials suspected a case of food poisoning in two Tiberias hotels Saturday, after 80 guests were admitted to a local hospital overnight with feelings of dizziness and nausea.

Officials from Magen David Adom, the emergency health organization, told the station the causes were unclear, but they believed spoiled food could be the culprit.

By morning, only four people remained under observation — an 82-year-old woman and three children.

Hospital officials said a full report would be given to the Health Ministry so that it can investigate the incident.
