For 2nd time, Melania appears to avoid Trump’s hand

In Rome, First Lady expertly avoids hand-holding with husband, a day after flicking his hand away in Tel Aviv

The sometimes awkward body language between President Donald Trump and his wife, Melania, continues to draw attention on social media.

The latest incident occurred Tuesday after Air Force One landed in Rome on the third leg of the president’s first foreign trip.

Trump waves to the crowd and is seen reaching for his wife’s left hand as they disembark, but she quickly raises it to her head to brush her hair aside.

Trump, hand outstreched, appeared to wait a beat before then putting his hand on her waist or backside in an attempt to guide her down the steps.

The president and first lady seemed to have a similar incident as they walked the red carpet after arriving at Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv on Monday.

Melania Trump appeared to swat away her husband’s hand as he reached for her, a moment captured by hundreds of cameras, and recreated as a viral meme on social media.

While People Magazine, Huffington Post and Buzzfeed debated whether it was the president swatting away the first lady, or vice versa, others surmised that the reach for her hand was because Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Sara Netanyahu were holding hands on the other side of the Trumps.

Mrs. Trump is expected to join her husband at his meeting with Pope Francis at the Vatican Wednesday.
