A 28-year-old man was stabbed to death in the southern city of Netivot on Tuesday, in an apparent fight between two family members.

The suspect is the victim’s cousin, also 28. He was slightly wounded and detained by officers.

Emergency forces rushed to a local home following a call to police, where they located the victim in the yard, in serious condition. The alleged attacker was outside on the street.

Medics transported the victim to the Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba, where medical personnel pronounced his death.

Police said they were investigating the incident.

“Netivot police officers arrived at the scene and located a lightly wounded man on the street. [He] was detained and escorted by a police officer for medical treatment at Soroka Hospital,” a spokesperson for the police said.
