3 arrested in clashes in East Jerusalem over preparations for new national park
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleClashes broke out earlier today in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan after police demolished a store there as part of preparations for the construction of a controversial national park there.
Police used tear gas and stun grenades and arrested three Palestinian rioters.
The so-called “King’s Garden” is a Jerusalem Municipality project approved in 2010 that will include a promenade stretching from Mount Zion until the Old City’s Dung Gate. Almost 100 demolition orders have been issued to facilitate the project.
