Foreign Minister Eli Cohen meets Moldova’s President Maia Sandu and Foreign Minister Nicu Popescu in Chisinau, where they discuss plans to facilitate the arrival of tens of thousands of Jewish worshipers on their way to Uman in Ukraine for Rosh Hashana.

Ukraine’s airspace has been closed since the beginning of the war in February 2022, and over 20,000 pilgrims arrived last year, mostly through Moldova, the closest country to Uman. Cohen is accompanied by Minister of Jerusalem and Jewish Tradition Meir Porush.

The sides also discuss cooperation in agriculture, trade and foreign workers.
