Freed hostages Bar Kuperstein and Rom Braslavski made heart signs from the window of the hospital as well-wishers sing in the street, a video circulating on social media shows.

The crowd had gathered to celebrate the Jewish festival of Simchat Torah outside the Sheba Hospital, where a number of the freed hostages, as well as injured soldiers, are being treated.

Simchat Torah is also the anniversary of the October 7, 2023, onslaught according to the Jewish calendar.
