Gunman killed by IDF at Lebanon border didn’t cross fence, initial IDF probe finds

The gunman shot dead by IDF troops on the Lebanon border did not cross Israel’s border fence, which is built several meters inside Israeli territory, according to a preliminary investigation carried out by the army.
According to the probe, IDF troops operating inside southern Lebanon came under fire from the gunman close to the border barrier, and returned fire.
The gunman’s body was located a short while later in an Israeli military zone on the western side of the border barrier, which means the gunman technically crossed into Israeli territory, but did not infiltrate Israel’s border fence.
Army Radio reports that the gunman was dressed in a Hezbollah military uniform.
