Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh and Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah met in Beirut today, pro-Hezbollah Lebanese TV station al-Mayadeen reports.
The two are said to discuss the recent 11-day fighting between Israel and Gaza-based terror groups led by Hamas.
“Nasrallah and Haniyeh affirmed the depth of the relationship between Hezbollah and Hamas, and its primary position in the axis of resistance,” according to al-Mayadeen.
The visit was Haniyeh’s second to Lebanon in 27 years. He last met with Nasrallah during his previous visit last September.
Haniyeh has been on a blitz of meetings around the Arab world, traveling from Morocco to Mauritania before reaching Lebanon. On Sunday, Haniyeh met with Lebanese President Michel Aoun, who is seen as broadly aligned with Hezbollah.
