Hamas says it launched six UAVs into Israel

Hamas says it launched at least six UAVs into Israel today.

It says it has built three different types of drones, each designed for a different mission, such as surveillance or delivery of explosive payloads against enemy targets.

The organization’s military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, adds that one has already hovered above IDF Headquarters in Tel Aviv’s Hakirya complex.

The claims are being met with a healthy dose of skepticism. The IDF, which can detect a Katyusha rocket and accurately track its ballistic trajectory in time to intercept, has not detected the fleet of drones Hamas claims to have launched.

The IDF confirmed Monday morning that it had downed one UAV from Gaza. It was intercepted and destroyed in the sky over Ashdod by a Patriot missile.
