Hamas sends text messages to Israelis, blaming the “stupid” leadership in Jerusalem for the salvos of rockets fired into Israeli territory since the start of Operation Protective Edge last week.
The messages, from a number identified as “SMSQASSAM,” warn that the rocket fire will continue until Israel agrees to Hamas’s terms for a ceasefire.
Those include the lifting of Israel’s blockade on the Gaza Strip, the opening of the Rafah border crossing with Egypt and the release of Palestinian prisoners Israel has rearrested after freeing them in exchange for kidnapped Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit.
The texts, which are signed by the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, read, “The stupidity of your leaders has placed all of Israel under fire and forced all Israelis to enter shelters. We will continue to shoot [rockets] at every place in Israel until all our legitimate demands are met fully.”
