Interior minister threatens to work with opposition if Ra’am opposes reunification law – report

Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked reportedly issues a threat to the Islamist Ra’am party to promote an opposition-backed quasi-constitutional Basic Law on immigration, if Ra’am opposes the extension of a temporary order barring Palestinians with Israeli spouses from acquiring Israeli residency.
Channel 12 news and the Kan public broadcaster both report on the move, with Channel 12 saying the threat has also been leveled at the left-wing Meretz party, which is similarly weighing opposing the measure’s extension.
