Israel to extradite two French citizens to face trial for fraud

The Justice Ministry announces that it has ordered the extradition of two French-Israeli citizens who are suspected of having taken advantage of the COVID-19 pandemic to commit a series of frauds in France.

In May 2020, shortly after their arrest, the ministry indicated that the two men, Fabrice Avraham Benini and Yann Moché Zouaghi of Ra’anana, had “fraudulently withdrawn large sums from French companies” in order to “take advantage of the coronavirus crisis.” They are suspected of having obtained money from companies under the guise of promoting medical research projects related to COVID-19, according to the ministry.
