Lebanese man who fired rockets at Galilee: No regrets

Sheikh Hussein Atawi, the man who Lebanese security forces allege was behind rocket fire on northern Israel on Friday, says he has no regrets, Ynet reports.

“I did it for Allah,” Atawi is quoted as saying in the Hezbollah-affiliated newspaper Al-Akhbar. “I don’t have any regrets and I am convinced that my actions were just. I support the people of Gaza who are being murdered by our enemy. The resistance is everyone’s prerogative.”

Hezbollah, whose fighters are bogged down in Syria, has been notably silent during almost a week of fighting in Gaza. Two incidents of rocket fire from Lebanon are blamed, by both Lebanon and Israel, on Palestinian groups in the country.

Atawi has been arrested by Lebanese security services, and is reportedly severely injured from a technical malfunction during one of the rocket launches.
