Likud MK Bitan indicted on charges of bribery, fraud

The State Prosecutor has filed charges against Likud MK David Bitan on charges of bribery, fraud and breach of trust.
The charges date to when Bitan was deputy mayor of Rishon Lezion, and before he was elected to the Knesset in 2013. Police have reportedly been investigating the case against Bitan for the past six years. Bitan allegedly received bribes from friends and acquaintances while he was deputy mayor and gave them preferential treatment in return.
