Netanyahu met with Ra’am chief last week, urged him not to back Lapid-Bennett gov’t

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with Ra’am leader Mansour Abbas last week, in an effort to persuade him not to support a government led by Yamina’s Naftali Bennett and Yesh Atid’s Yair Lapid.

Netanyahu’s office declines to comment on the meeting.

Separately, Abbas was scheduled to sit down this afternoon with Lapid and Bennett, but that meeting was delayed.

Sources in Yamina and Yesh Atid say there is no connection between the postponement and Abbas’s meeting with Netanyahu.
