Red Crescent: 4 Palestinians hospitalized following separate settler attacks in West Bank

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society says a 39-year-old man was shot in a settler attack on the Palestinian community of Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron in the southern West Bank.

WAFA, the Palestinian Authority’s official news agency, cites local activist Osama Mukhamra as saying the wounded man was shot in the hand and hospitalized in moderate condition, while other people were beaten by the attackers and received treatment in the field. The network says IDF forces were present.

Another five Palestinian were injured, three of whom had to be hospitalized, in a settler attack near the shepherding community of Ras al-Ahmar in the northern West Bank’s Jordan Valley, the Red Crescent says.

WAFA reports that the shepherds were taking livestock out to graze when a group of settlers pepper-sprayed them and banished them from the area.

The IDF does not immediately respond to a request for comment on either incident.
