Rocket sirens sound in central city of Modiin, surrounding towns

Incoming rocket sirens are sounding in the central city of Modiin and other nearby towns, as the range of Palestinian Islamic Jihad rocket fire appears to expand.

There are reports of interceptions in the skies above Modiin by the Iron Dome missile defense system.

The sounds of explosions is heard across central Israel.

This is the first time sirens have sounded in that area since the start of Operation Breaking Dawn on Friday afternoon.

There are no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
